I am only human.

A deeply flawed one who, at every turn, makes the worst possible decision. Yet somehow, I am still alive, unsupervised, and making it everyone else’s problem.

Yes, my older brother is always there to lecture me after every hedonistic display of poor judgment. But he drives a Dodge Stratus. I cannot take life advice from a grown man who still has a CD changer in his car.

And yes, my so-close-yet-so-far love interest does call me a “barely functional fetus” when I abuse my powers. Personally, I choose to believe that’s how she talks dirty to me.

Each episode of The Rushes Mixtape is a new reminder that I should not be trusted with supernatural abilities.

None of this should end well.
Spoiler: it never does.

Because with every poor decision, I’m getting dragged deeper into a world I didn’t know existed. A world not actually from this…world.

There’s no redemption arc here.
No clean exit.

Just me. Shadi. Making it worse.

Bulfinch retells classic medieval romances centered on Emperor Charlemagne and his paladins, including the famed Roland and Oliver. Drawing from European legends and epic poems such as The Song of Roland, he crafts a cohesive narrative filled with battles, quests, and heroic sacrifice. The book captures the spirit of knightly valor and the struggle between Christian and Saracen forces.

The collection also explores themes of loyalty, faith, and courage while introducing magical elements, enchanted weapons, and larger-than-life heroes. Bulfinch simplifies complex medieval sources, making them engaging and understandable for modern readers while preserving their dramatic intensity.

Baroness Orczy sets the story in 1792, at the height of the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror. Sir Percy Blakeney, a seemingly foppish English aristocrat, plays the part of a dim-witted socialite in London but secretly orchestrates bold escapes for condemned French nobles. Investigators from the revolutionary government, especially Citizen Chauvelin, constantly attempt to track him down.

The novel blends historical events with swashbuckling adventure and romance as Marguerite Blakeney, Sir Percy’s wife, becomes entangled in the dangerous chase for her husband’s secret. The narrative emphasizes courage, disguise, and loyalty under relentless threat, rewarding readers with dramatic narrow escapes and clever strategy.

The novel centers on a baffling murder investigation that spirals into absurdity as unlikely suspects and strange coincidences pile up. Rice blends crime with comedy, creating tension while keeping the tone lively and unpredictable. The mystery unfolds through snappy dialogue and exaggerated personalities that blur the line between danger and farce.

Rather than focusing strictly on forensic detail, the book highlights personality clashes, romantic tension, and social satire. The pacing moves quickly, and the narrative keeps listeners guessing by constantly shifting suspicion and expectation.

Faulkner tells the story through a chorus of voices, each character asserting their own reality with force and contradiction. The Bundren family carries their matriarch’s body across Mississippi to honor a burial promise, yet every mile exposes selfish motives, moral fractures, and private obsessions. Action and interior thought collide as the journey strips away pretense and exposes raw human will.

The novel advances through momentum rather than plot comfort. Floods, fire, injury, and decay press the family forward, while language fractures into stark rhythms and blunt revelations. Faulkner refuses explanation and instead lets voice, choice, and consequence shape meaning, creating a work that feels immediate, difficult, and uncompromising.

Ryan and Erica have lived in their old Victorian house long enough to stop questioning its creaks, cold spots, and half-forgotten corners—until one night, a hidden panel in a closet wall refuses to stay hidden. Inside is a bundle of strange clothing…and a jeweled sword that doesn’t belong to any world they recognize. The moment they touch it, reality breaks. In a flash of blinding light, the twins are ripped from upstate New York and thrown into a land of towering forests, fractured kingdoms, and old songs that sound uncomfortably like prophecies.

Welcome to Aulmagne, where strangers stare as if the twins are ghosts made flesh, where borders are drawn in blood, and where history itself has been weaponized. A ruthless ruler known as the Chancellor tightens his grip through fear, censorship, and the brutal erasure of anything that might threaten his reign. And the sword in Ryan’s hands, the legendary Blade of Baz, is more than a weapon. It’s a symbol of rebellion, a relic of a forgotten line, and a beacon that calls both allies and assassins.

As pursuers close in and trust becomes a gamble, Ryan and Erica must navigate a world that insists they matter…even if they don’t yet know why. Because in a place built on legend, the most dangerous thing they can do is survive long enough to be recognized.

In the tradition of classic “crossing-over” fantasies—readers may think of C.S. Lewis’s Narnia for its premise of stepping from the familiar into the fantastical—Blade of Baz blends adventure with questions about identity, belonging, and what it means to inherit a story you didn’t ask for. The tone is accessible and teen-friendly, with elements of quest, court, and faction tension, as well as mythic artifacts, making it a good fit for readers who enjoy portal fantasies, sibling-led adventures, and secondary-world settings with Celtic-influenced names and lore.

Blade of Baz was originally published as a serial NFT collection on the Cardano blockchain in 2023. All profits from book sales will support the Plomin Scholarship Fund.

The novel follows Paul Bäumer, a German teenager who enlists with his classmates after absorbing nationalist rhetoric at school. Once at the front, Paul quickly discovers that war bears no resemblance to the glory promised by authority figures. Daily life becomes a cycle of fear, hunger, camaraderie, and sudden violence, where survival depends as much on luck as skill.

As the story progresses, Paul grows increasingly alienated from civilian life and even from his own past self. Moments of tenderness with fellow soldiers clash with the constant presence of death, revealing how war erodes identity, morality, and hope. The novel does not argue through ideology; instead, it persuades through lived experience, forcing the reader to witness how an entire generation becomes emotionally unmoored.

The novel follows private detective Sam Spade as he becomes entangled with a group of criminals obsessed with a legendary jeweled statuette. Each character hides their true motives behind charm, threats, or manipulation, and Spade must constantly adapt as alliances shift and betrayals surface. The plot advances through sharp dialogue and tightly controlled scenes that reveal information only when it becomes unavoidable.

As the search for the falcon intensifies, Spade balances personal loss, professional ethics, and survival in a world where trust proves dangerous. Hammett strips away romantic notions of detective work and replaces them with realism, showing a protagonist who remains emotionally detached while operating by a personal code that refuses to bend, even when the outcome offers no reward.
